Before an interview be sure to have
done the following:

Take 10-12 copies
of your résumé for the interview. Use high quality paper for
printing your résumé. Keep your references ready. Inform them in
advance that you are using them as a reference.

Ask questions to
the interviewer. It is imperative that you ask questions. It shows
you are interested.
|
|
|
Sample questions
that you could ask include the following:
- Ask questions about the company,
their growth prospects, future plans etc. You could also ask
questions pertaining to your job responsibilities, work hours,
etc.
- What kinds of benefits are offered
by the company?
- What is a typical career path?
- When am I expected to join?
|
|
|
Wear clean, formal
clothes to the interview. Make eye contact, be energetic, show
interest in the position you are applying for.
|
|
|
At the end of the
meeting, ask the interviewer about the next step in the process.
Make sure you ask about the time frame of the decision process.
Inquire if you could call back to check on the status of the
interview. Keep in touch with the company. As soon as the interview
is completed, ask for a business card. If possible make your own to
give to the employer. Write a thank you note to everyone you talked
to during the interview. |
